Four Things the North Shore Does to Your Vehicle
Every region has its own particular way of wearing out a car. The North Shore's combination of rainforest canopy, ocean air, mountain roads and serious winter weather is genuinely tougher on paint and interiors than most of Metro Vancouver. None of this is a reason for alarm — it is simply why a maintenance rhythm works better here than an annual rescue, and why paint protection pays for itself faster on this side of the water.
Tree Sap & Needles
Lynn Valley, Edgemont, Capilano and the British Properties sit under heavy conifer canopy. Sap is acidic, bonds hard, and etches clear coat within days. Needles trap moisture in panel gaps and window channels where corrosion starts quietly.
Salt Air Off the Inlet
Ambleside, Dundarave, Deep Cove and Horseshoe Bay all sit on saltwater. Airborne salt accelerates oxidation on unprotected paint and attacks brightwork and wheel finishes far faster than inland locations.
Mountain Road Grit & Brine
Winter runs up Cypress, Seymour and Grouse coat the lower panels, rockers and wheel wells in brine and abrasive grit. It comes home with you, sits in the wheel arches, and works away all season.

The North Shore mountains catch far more rainfall than downtown Vancouver — well above the 1,150mm the city records. Constant wet means constant mineral deposits, water spotting, and interiors that never fully dry between uses.

Do you really come to North Vancouver and West Vancouver?
Yes. Pacific Luxe is a fully mobile detailing service and the North Shore is a core part of our service area. We cover Lower and Upper Lonsdale, Lynn Valley, Deep Cove, Edgemont Village, Capilano, Ambleside, Dundarave, Caulfeild, the British Properties, Horseshoe Bay and Lions Bay. There is no travel surcharge anywhere on the North Shore.
How much does car detailing cost in North Vancouver?
Exterior details start at $99, interior details at $219, and full details at $259 for a sedan. Larger vehicles are priced by size, and the full pricing table for every vehicle class is published on this page. All prices exclude GST. We quote before we start, and we do not add charges you did not agree to.
Do you need to use my power and water?
No. We arrive fully self-contained with our own water supply and power. All we need is a parking space with enough room to open the doors and walk around the vehicle. If you would rather we use your outdoor tap, that is fine too, but it is never a requirement.
Can you detail my car in an underground parkade or a townhouse complex?
Yes, and we do it constantly across Lower Lonsdale and Ambleside. Underground parkades are actually ideal in winter because they are dry and out of the wind. Please check whether your strata requires advance notice for contractors, and let us know the stall number and any access code when you book.
My driveway is steep. Is that a problem?
Rarely. Steep driveways are a fact of life on the North Shore and we work on them every week. If the grade is severe enough to be unsafe to work around, we will simply detail the vehicle on the flattest legal spot nearby, usually the street directly outside. Mention it when you book and we will plan around it.
How long will the detail take?
A Mini Detail runs 60 to 90 minutes. An exterior detail takes 30 to 45 minutes. An interior detail typically takes around 2 hours, depending on the vehicle's condition. A full detail (interior and exterior together) takes 3 to 3.5 hours. We give you a realistic time estimate before we start, and we do not rush a job to hit it.
What happens if it rains?
This is Vancouver, so we plan for it. We work under pop-up shelter for most exterior work, and interior details are unaffected by weather entirely. If conditions are genuinely unworkable, we will contact you the morning of and reschedule at no cost. We would rather move your booking than hand back a compromised result.
Do you offer regular maintenance detailing?
Yes. Our Mini Detail is a combined interior and exterior maintenance service designed to be booked every two to four weeks, starting at $160 for a sedan. It is the most cost-effective way to keep a vehicle permanently presentable rather than periodically rescued.
Do you detail luxury and exotic vehicles?
Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. We work regularly on Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Range Rover, Tesla, Lamborghini and Ferrari, and we prepare picture cars for Vancouver film and television productions. Paint-safe technique, professional-grade products and appropriate insurance are standard, not an upgrade.
